Jane Martin
JEWELLER
| A typical necklace is a mixture of silver beads and old semi-precious jemstone beads strung on silver 'rope', often with abstract or suggestive shapes made in silver or gold. Jane sells her work at craft fairs in the South of England and makes many pieces to commission. Click on the 'Events' button on the left for details of where she will be in the coming months. |
|
| Other lighter, more dainty necklaces are usually strung on thread with many small stone beads with fewer silver or gold spacing beads, and extending right round the neck. |
|
All the silver and gold pieces are individually designed and made by Jane herself - much of the work goes into decorating the metal using acid-etching techniques, and 'reticulation' (melting the surface of the metal only). |
